Cricket’s biggest rivalry will take place at Manchester on 16th June. India will lock horns against the Arch-Rivals Pakistan. India would want to retain their winning streak but on the other hand Pakistan would want to end their losing streak against India in the world cup.
Although the skies weren’t completely clear, the weather forecast for Sunday’s game is promising. It is expected to be a little cloudy, but the chances of rain are minimal. It will be a welcome relief for both teams, who have already had washouts in their campaigns. Pakistan saw their game against Sri Lanka in Bristol ruined by rain while India’s match against New Zealand in Nottingham on Thursday suffered the same fate.
After Shikar Dhawan suffered a thumb injury, young Rishabh Pant has arrived at Manchester. Pant will not be a part of the squad and cannot play in any of the matches unless India officially rule Dhawan out of the World Cup. India, though, are not in any hurry to take that step. Assistant coach Sanjay Bangar on Wednesday explained that India do not want to rule out a ‘precious player’ like Dhawan so early, and are instead willing to give him time to recover.
In this world cup India has won 2 of the 3 matches while Pakistan has won only 1 of their 4 matches.
Pitch report at Manchester
The ball is certainly expected to turn and both teams should field their spinners for this clash. Also, the playing surface is usually pretty dry and crusty making the ball ample for reverse swing during the later stages of the innings.
The new ball doesn’t swing too much making this a good batting surface but the overcast conditions expected might turn the fixture to the favour of the bowler.
Head to head records
OverallPakistan lead 73-54 in 127 completed ODIs against India.
In World Cup:India, meanwhile have never lost to Pakistan in the World Cup and have a huge 6-0 lead over their rivals.
There are always some key players when it comes to big matches. For India the key players are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Yuzavendra Chahal. For Pakistan they are Babar azam, Facker Zaman and Imam-ul-haq.
India would want both their batsmen and bowlers to fire like the game against Australia. Pakistan’s bowling has done okay but their batsmen need to go all guns blazing against India.
So let us expect one of the most challenging encounters in the history of the World Cup.

Dear Soldier,While you have been defending the nation and the motherland without asking for anything in return, the man in the mirror is posing some serious questions to me in the backdrop of recent tragic incident. Question is “Do I deserve your supreme sacrifice?”.
I am an integral part of a nation where corruption is systemic. If not actively, I tolerate and in fact, softly celebrate the corrupt practices by passivity. I will not be surprised to soon discover the handy work of more than a few corrupt people living in this country being behind the enemy getting access to 100s of kilos of RDX. In the best case scenario, I may even discover that this corrupt person perhaps didn’t know the actual intent behind the accumulation of such large quantities of ammunition. Anyway, I will defend my actions with “Kuch lenge nahi to jindagi chalegi kaise?”, “Mehangaayi bhi to itni badh chuki hai”, “Uparwaale ko pahunchaanaa hai” and the list will go on.
Please don’t be shocked if I am part of the debate on one of the national TV channels attributing the incident to significant difference between haves and have-nots, inflation, ambition, left-right ideology, number of such incidents that took place in the past regime vs current regime. Frankly, the man in the mirror asks me, if I will care for you beyond this. Will I have the tiniest amount of your courage to stand against the officer asking me for a bribe next time? Will I have the guts to show him the picture of 40 of my soldiers who laid down their life due to a similar irresponsible act by another citizen of my country?
The criminals you are fighting against have every bit of information about me and you. They have access to sophisticated systems. I am willing to share the last inch of information on my body and soul with an unknown system that is monitoring every act of mine. However, if the state takes a step to link all the citizen information, I have a serious reservation to the same. Privacy of my information is more important than providing intelligence to you that can help identify enemies within. The fear of the state misusing the intelligence to create trouble for the political opponents is legitimate. Will I and the state that is my representative earnestly go all out in bringing that confidence among its people so that we share the necessary information from which our enemies stick out like sore thumbs against whom you can take a decisive action? It is better that you don’t know my response.
I have also started blaming the neighbouring country. Yes – Indeed we are unfortunate to have some treacherous neighbours. It is important to teach them a lesson and make them pay for the 40 brave lives. However, I am wondering if I am using this as an excuse to not take a closer look at myself at the same time. Please know that I don’t like following rules. Right from breaking all the traffic rules like driving on the wrong side, breaking the traffic signal, not standing in line in virtually any place, to urinating openly everywhere, I have scant respect for rules. In the name of caste, religion, language, faith…oh, give me a coin that has two sides…I can get into a serious conflict with my own countrymen and not think twice before harming someone. Will the incident of losing the best of my 40 men trigger the crucial change in my thinking?
I don’t like the inconvenience of being subjected to security checks in my own country. It is a different matter that I laud such efforts on a foreign soil. It is slowly coming to light that we even forced you to remove some of the security checks that you had placed for your own safety in the very place where the incident took place and that was in name of civilian freedom. When will I save you from my pettiness to gain political advantage?
Before concluding, I would like you to know that I am neither right, nor left. I am right at the centre lost in thoughts on how to face a child of a soldier. I did light a candle last night and pledged some money to financially support the families of the brave men.
Is this sufficient?
Symbolism does have its importance. Time taken out to light a candle at least helped me reflect deeply. Is this sufficient unless I changed myself drastically in my daily life to create a favourable atmosphere that will help in preventing a similar incident in future? An atmosphere that will make you feel proud of defending me with your life!
Dear Solider, this incident has helped me realize how blessed I am to have my defender in you. Now, I promise that I will relentlessly work towards becoming worthy of that defender. Jai Hind!

RCB’s domestic players set to undergo Yo-Yo test at conditioning camp
After finishing sixth in the IPL points table last season, RCB’s performance has gone downhill since 2016. However, RCB will be hoping for an improvement from its domestic players in the forthcoming season.
Along these lines, RCB organized a five-day conditioning camp for the players who are available in Bengaluru for the same. The camp began on 3rd February and stretched through 5 days at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The conditioning camp chiefly focused on vigorous fitness drills for conditioning and strengthening of the players for better performances. The fitness regime also included the yo-yo test that evaluates an individual’s aerobic endurance fitness.
The players were under the guidance of experienced trainers like A I Harsha, Evan Speechly and Shravan Kumbagowdana. Chief Coach Gary Kirsten and Bowling Coach Ashish Nehra were in-charge to supervise the progress of the players and to get a close look at their fitness.
RCB sweat it out ahead of the new season
The camp was primarily joined by eight of RCB’s domestic players including Ranji Trophy top run-scorer Milind Kumar, 16-year old Bengal prodigy Prayas Ray Burman, who got into the limelight with eleven dismissals in nine matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Mumbai’s all-rounder Shivam Dube, right-handed batsman and Uttar Pradesh’s captain Akshdeep Nath, talented Delhi seamer Kulwant Khejroliya, who made his List A debut for Delhi in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Here is the complete list of 8 players that joined RCB conditioning camp ahead of IPL 2019 – Washington Sundar, Akshdeep Nath, Devdutt Padikkal, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Himmat Singh, Kulwant Khejroliya, Milind Kumar, Prayas Ray Barman, Shivam Dube
Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamigalu is no more, the state has lost an eminent person today

Cyber crime, the worlds most dangerous and hidden crime growing its roots stronger and faster than anything in the current digital era. Most of the cyber crime in the recent time has literally shook the world, especially the buzz that happened with regards to the data of the users in the most famous medium – Facebook. This movie has shed lights on the darker side of the cyber crime considering the data leakage or data theft by creating a genre of its kind with an entertainment bonanza with a peek insight of information.
Alok, the depraved hero (though he is portrayed as a decent and good academic guy) in this movie who aspires to become an entrepreneur by having his own start up. So, does he achieve his dream in doing so? Well, thats what the movie speaks about with his intellectual and wicked sense of achieving the same. The best part of the movie is the idea behind the Alok’s aspiration i.e. making use of digital medium with his brain effectively, which can be said as a deadly combination of brain and the digital medium !
The film starts with a brief introduction about the digital era and cyber crime to the viewers. Coming to the plot of this movie – “SUDHAAR Card” (which is nothing but the AADHAAR card), an unique identification provided by the government of india to all of its citizens. This plot provided an intense information about the data stored online in an encrypted way can still be taken away with a mechanism of hacking! Where every audience will start thinking about his/her data can be lost at any point of time. And of course, what are the consequences that can arouse by losing such vital data from the billions of people in the nation.
Sonu gowda has literally made a come back with her 2 shaded performances in this movie. One as an innocent computer science teaching staff in a private computer coaching centre and a high profile CBI officer who deals with the hero in order to find how the data leakage happened and how the same can be reverted by getting back the lost data from Alok. Janardhan chikkanna, the director and the captain of the ship has proven to the kannada cinema industry that a movie of such a genre can be made in our industry too.
The freshness in his narration depicts the amount of research he has made to make this movie and really deserves an applause from the audience. The instrumental cast – including Rangayana Raghu as the chief minister, Pawan Kumar as an ethical hacker and Avinash as a police officer, does its part and are able fully justify their support to the screenplay.
Does Alok escapes from the cyber crime web? Will the CBI and team succeed in getting back the lost data of billions of people of the nation? For the answers, do watch the movie and its worth watching !!
Have you ever got happy-high and danced your night away at Gilly’s Redefined?
Dancing is an excellent stress-buster, especially after an exhausting day and Bangalore houses some of the grooviest party destinations. Apart from just being a hub of IT professionals, the bustling city hosts the best dance floors for you to groove on.
After the sundown till a little past midnight, Bangalore is sure to leave you spellbound with its vivacious nightlife. From live karaokes to underground watering holes, umpteen microbreweries and posh nightclubs, you have multiple places to enjoy and make ad-hoc plans with your friends.
One thing that I have learnt after coming to Bangalore is that with so many pubs and discotheques across the city, you will never run out of options and can just soak up yourself in your favourite place, get happy-high and dance the night away with your friends. There are unduly high number of dance clubs and dedicated dance floors that serve all kinds of alcohol and scrumptious food.
From Big Brewsky to Pebble, XU, Skyye Lounge, Ice, High Ultra Lounge, No Limits Lounge, The Warehouse, Vapour, Siam Trading Company and many more; I have tried quite a lot of options on my list. But I have never got a chance to try my hands on Gilly’s Redefined.

An upcoming director, with the perfect formula for commercial movies, has given several blockbusters to Kannada and South Indian cinema.
One needs to appreciate the concept of choosing a subject, which is very crucial for the State and our language, Kannada.
The entire crew of the movie includes all new faces, except Veteran Anant Nag and Ramesh Bhat. The first half of the movie is absolutely brilliant and covers the Village lifestyle and parents from different backgrounds. It also brings back the school days. The wonderful story narration continues with a childhood love story and most generic language barriers. The infrastructure challenges and poor administrations around the government school is focused
As Karagodu lies in the border of Karnataka and Kerala, the language barrier of Malayalam and Kannada is been brought out very well. The 1st 10 minutes, entry of Upadhaya who attacks the school in his Yaksgana costume is one the best scene.
The second half of the story introduces Sir Anant Nag. Although the introduction of this character is lackluster, Ramesh Bhat and Anant Nag’s duo keeps the story intact and keeps you interested in the climax. The movie loses the humor factor in the second half and misses the surprise element too. The last part of the movie is completely focused on the lawyer and loses the storyline slightly and becomes offbeat.
The movie comes with a message and warning for government schools in India and the major challenge of language.
An evening well spent watching Rishab Shetty’s new movie premiere, ‘Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale, Kasaragod’. This movie is dedicated to Anil Shetty’s, “Nav Bharat”, “Save Government School Campaign”.

Anil Shetty and his team very aggressively working towards this campaign and making awareness in order to save the government schools.
During the launch of the Movie, Rishab Shetty highlighted a few interesting points like frequently many politicians are investing in private schools, which leaves government schools, with no hope.
Anil Shetty mentioned many legendary names like Sudha Murthy from Infosys, Upendra and many others who studied from government schools and have achieved big milestones.
It is time that we as Bangaloreans support this cause. If you agree and are ready to support, give a missed call to “76764 44225”

The scriptures say “jambu dweepe Bhaarata varshe….” And from time immemorial a meaningful Samskrita ‘padham’ Bhaarat, has been in vogue: no one can deny this. Yet, our Constitution included the name India and liberally allowed everyone to use it even after attaining Independence from foreign invaders.
The Concept of Nation must sink into everyone’s mind, because nation is just an idea. When this idea burns through the mind, sinks into the heart and the passion rises towards it, then you have the real nation.
Otherwise nation would be just on papers and this would be the unfortunate reality for us.

My journey continues to meeting great Bangaloreans – Mr.Dattatreya Aralikatte- The Puppet Man of India
Mr. Dattatreya Aralikatte taught geography at the Bangalore Higher Secondary School (BHSS) and also worked at Akashwani or the All India Radio. His stint with radio helped him learn the nuances of voice modulation, script writing, and music. A very soft spoken, down to earth person. I was one those lucky ones who got groomed by him during my studies at BHSS.
Had the opportunity of meeting him personally and what a wonderful person to be associated with!!!. The ideas, the passion, the logic, his concern about a society made me wonder whether such type of persons is there in this fast running age.
His concern about the society, where it is heading today made everybody think logically. For every question, he has a ready answer. His concern for youngsters and youth of today made us take stock of where we are today. His ideologies gave us a chance to give fodder to the brain. A great person and a privilege to know and to be associated with.
I am gratified by the education what he gave me today of “Never Give-up”.

My journey continues to meeting great Bangaloreans – Mr.Upendra
Mr. Upendra has made a mark in the world of Cinema. He is an individual who has followed what he believes. People around the globe have accepted and applauded his ideas and his work. And for the love for his fellow state-people, the star has rolled out a new political party “Prajakiya”, which means for the people from the people and to the people of Karnataka.
The concept of Prajakiya believes in people-oriented activities. This party works for the people and by the people. It allows residents to choose a candidate from the manifesto, which is screened and approved by Mr.Upendra, himself.
Prajakiya also has an APP (Mobile APP), where residents can post the challenges that they are facing in their locality/ward/constituency so that it can reach the concerned officers.
Mr. Upendra’s vision for Prajakiya is that every individual should be able to claim his/her rights. He is completely against the current political party system and he believes people of Karnataka will soon understand and support the vision of Prajakiya Party.
It was one of those pleasant days for me, especially after meeting Mr.Upendra, A man with several credits under his belt as a Writer, Director, Actor, and being very humble and yet ambitious. He is very clear with his thoughts about what to give back to the community in a big way through Prajakiya.
