Lord Vishnu took Narasimha avathara in Vaishaka Masa on Swathi Nakshatra day to kill demon king Hiranya Kasipu, so Narasimha swamy nakshatra is Swathi nakshatra. Hence on every month special pooja’s will be offered to the God on Swathi nakshatra day. Devotees far and wide flock this temple especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, considered auspicious days. This is the only temple in Karnataka where Swati Nakshatra, auspicious day for Lord Narasimha is celebrated with great fervour. The ceremonies include Abhishekam ,Sudarshana Narasimha Pooja, Satyanarayana Pooja , Ratha Prakarotsava followed by Mangalarathi and Annadanam (Lunch).
Here Narasimha Swmay is sitting between Adi Lakshmi, Santhana Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi and Aishwarya Lakshmi (Asta Lakshmi’s).
Namakarana and Anna prasana to children here will keep them away from fear and the deity will safe guard them forever with his blessings. Children having Anna Prasana here will never find difficulty for food through-out their life. There is a belief that getting married in Asta Lakshmi Sametha Narasimha Swamy Sannidhi will bring peace and prosperity in their life.
In view of protecting the “Panchaloha Meru”, the authorities at the temple decided to make a krishnahila of the meru and succeeded after facing many hiccups. The krishnahila Meru is an imprint of the “Panchaloha Meru” in huge size. The Panchaloha meru is kept inside the krishnahila Meru along with 108 saligrama’s, Sudarshana Chakra, Sri Chakra and Navaratna’s. Abhishekam is done only on amavasya day to this Meru to benefit the devotees suffering from financial problems, kuja dosha, problems in work place etc
