Whenever we take our car out for a Chennai-Bengaluru trip, we are prepared for a 4-hour journey. But if I say, we will be able to finish Chennai-Bengaluru journey in just 120 minutes? Does that sound awesome? Well, the good news is Germany has submitted a report that says bullet train from Chennai to Mysore via Bengaluru will be a feasible option, very soon.
The AA Bullet Train
The AA bullet train from Chennai to Mysuru via Bengaluru will take just two hours and 25 minutes to reach the destination. Currently, Shatabdi takes a total of seven hours and a road trip (by car) may take 4-5 hours. A bullet train is expected to finish the ride in just 120 minutes and will be the fastest in this route. It reaches a maximum speed of 320 kilometers per hour, effortlessly.
What The German Ambassador Has to Say?
The German Ambassador, Martin Ney, handed over the final feasibility report on the Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru bullet train to Ashwani Lohani, the Railway Board Chairman, on Thursday.
Martin Ney in a conference said, “As per the key finding of the study, the high-speed train on the route is not only feasible but also manageable.” Ashwani Lohani also added, “The report will be studied before any further steps are taken over the 435-km high-speed bullet train corridor.”
Highlights from the Report
According to the report, out of 435 km, 84% of the track will be elevated while 11% will be in a tunnel. The rest of it will be on grade. A techie, Bhaskar Y said, “Bullet train can do wonders. Thousands of people travel between the three cities and the traffic on Bengaluru-Mysuru stretch is ever-increasing. Moreover, the train travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai is 5-7 hours, which forced many people to fly.”
As per Press Information Bureau, Mumbai-Ahmedabad Rail Corridor is the only sanctioned High-Speed Rail Project in India. It is implemented with the technical and financial assistance of the Government of Japan.
