Passengers traveling in BMTC buses can get daily passes thru cashless mode. The State-run Corporation has partnered with tech startup series 5 Labs. Pvt. for the same.
Upon boarding, the passenger has to show the digital pass ticket on his/her mobile phone to the conductor. The conductor will thus provide his/her ID No. to the passenger.
BMTC officials believe the digital pass will bring down corruption and the problem of loose cash transactions. It is a green initiative which leverages the latest technologies and helps passengers book tickets at the ease of fingerprints on the smartphone.
