Transfer of IPS Officers in Karnataka

The Government of Karnataka transferred 6 IPS officers in the month of June 2018 8 IPS officers in the month of August and on 15th September transferred 18 IPS officers, which includes IPS Officer Alok Kumar, who served as the Addl. Commissioner of Police (West) in 2015. He was suspended for alleged involvement in a lottery scam.  After 5 months of his suspension he was reinstated into service and took charge as IGP, Training in Bengaluru in Oct. 2015 before he was posted as IGP (northern range) in Belgavi.

Bheemashankar S Guled is another officer who got transferred after his controversial video with a woman.  He has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Railways, Bengaluru.

Congress legislators reportedly opposed the transfer of senior officers by Chief Minister. The issue is expected to be raised at a meeting.
