“Gold Morning India”.  What a great start to the day!    Indian rowers Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh clocked 6:17.13 to win gold in Men’s Quadruple Sculls.

The Indian team finished with a time of 6:17.13 while Indonesia and Thailand finished with timings of 6:20.58 and 6:22.41 respectively. This is the first time that India has medalled in the quadruple sculls event, which was introduced in 2014.

This is only India’s second gold medal in rowing at the Asian Games. Bajrang Lal Takhar had won the first in the men’s singles event in 2010.
