Wheelchair cricket India (WCI) which has 16 State teams, was founded by International Para-athlete and national awardee Pradeep Raj in 2011. When Paralympics was started, no one in India knew about an athlete with disabilities. It is the same case with wheelchair cricket.
Undeterred by their disabilities, two Bangaloreans represented India at the bilateral wheelchair cricket competition between India and Pakistan @ Dubai which started on 15th September 2018.
Shivaprasad.S. and Tippeswamy Madiwal got selected by the Wheel Chair Cricket India (WCI) to participate in the match.
India won the bilateral wheelchair cricket tournament between India and Pakistan.
Shivaprasad (32) works as an HR in a Pvt. Co. is 80% disabled. He developed polio a young age. Tippeswamy Madiwal (30) uses a single crutch to walk. He had a wrong surgery which affected his limp.
