Javeline thrower Neeraj Chopra bags GOLD

Neeraj Chopra who is 20 years old Indian track and field athlete competing in the Javeline throw from Khandra, Panipat, Haryana has proved his mettle again on the international sports area when he bagged gold at Sotteville Athletics meet held in France on Tuesday with a massive margin. .

Neeraj Chopra’s throw of 85.17m was fast-far enough to get him the gold on the medal tally leaving behind Andrian Mardare of Moldova behind for a silver and Edis Matusevicius of Lithuania for bronze.

It is been a long journey from Panipat to France to become the world’s best is a dream come true for Neeraj Chopra.

Neeraj Chopra first made headlines when he got gold in the 2016 World championship with a record throw of 86.48m.   He has also won the gold at the Commonwealth Games in Gold coast with a throw of 86.47m. final.  But this is not his best throw as he had earlier improved his own National record with a throw of 87.43m at the IAAF Diamond League.

This youngster is a part of the Indian Squad for the Asian Games 2018 and all eyes are on him now as he will be aiming for the gold in Jakarta also.
