Sanjeev Rajput gets India a Silver Medal in shooting

Sanjeev Rajput (5 January 1981) is an Indian Shooter born to Krishan Lal of Jagadhri.  He went to SD Public School at Jagadhri, Haryana.  At the age of 18, he joined the Indian Navy as a sailor.

Rajput ended with a score of 452.7 to finish second behind Zicheng Hui of China, who came out of nowhere to clinch the gold medal with a score of 453.3. Takayuki Matsumoto of Japan bagged the bronze with a score of 441.4.  Rajput dominated the proceedings in the keeling and prone positions. However, an erratic show in the standing round put paid to his hopes of gold.

Sanjeev Rajput is an Arjun Awardee.  Congratulations.
