Saurav Ghoshal bags squash bronze medal in Jakarta

Saurav Ghoshal born 10 August 1986  in Kolkata, West Bengal is a professional squash player from India and reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 14 in February 2018. He completed his schooling at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy in Kolkata.  Saurav started playing squash in his hometown of Kolkata, at the Kolkata Racquet Club.

Saurav moved to Chennai after completing his school and was based at the ICL squash academy in Chennai and coached by Major (Rtd) Maniam and Cyrus Poncha in Chennai.

India’s top-ranked squash player had come close to winning it in the previous 3 editions of the quadrennial event but had to eventually settle for bronze at the 2006 Doha and 2010 Guangzhou games while he won a silver at the 2014 Incheon games.

An injured Saurabh settled for a bronze when he went down 12-10, 13-11, 6-11, 5-11, 6-11 to lower seed Leo Au of Hong Kong China in the semifinals.
